Memorial Day

Today we honor those who have fought and died for this country. Fifteen years ago, I started volunteering for the Glacier Highlands Neighborhood Association‘s Memorial Day Parade. I brought donuts and commandeered volunteers, then eventually led the organization as its President. Each year my family and I have enjoyed coming together with our neighbors to continue this long-standing tradition. Sadly, the parade is canceled this year and our volunteer veterans have noted how difficult it is to track the many Michigan community members who have fallen. I’m sharing photos from prior parades as a remembrance. Please also join us at 3 pm as community members play “Taps” in honor and recognition of veterans who’ve passed.
